2008:

Nim's Island (Cast: Jodie Foster, Abigail Breslin, Gerard Butler) ... Adorable movie! Abigail is just cute and charming; Gerard is gorgeous as ever and glad he's doing other things besides "300" to expand his repertoire. I liked Jodie as well but wanted to see her on the island more. $

Leatherheads (Cast: George Clooney, Renee Zellweger, John Krasinki; directed by George Clooney) ... okay, I'll see anything with George and Renee in it and this was adorable, not great, but a good afternoon, feel-good movie (and date movie). They make a good couple onscreen and have a pretty decent connection. Based in the 1920's about the start of professional football. $

21 (Cast: Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey, Jim Sturgess, Laurence Fishburn) ... Not as bad as I thought it would be; it was fun and seeing Vegas again was cool. $

Meet The Browns by Tyler Perry (Cast: Rick Fox, Angela Bassett) ... Not quite as funny as his other movies; more like a dramedy, but not bad. $

The Bank Job (Cast: Jason Statham, Saffron Burrons) ... Great English movie based on a true story in 1971 based on pics of Princess Margaret. Worth seeing! $$

College Road Trip (Cast: Martin Lawrence, Donny Osmond) ... Cute, funny, especially Donny, who is pretty good at comedy and making fun of hiimself. $

The Other Boleyn Girl (Cast: Natalie Portman, Eric Bana, Scarlett Johansson) ... Great English histoyr movie and parts of history I didn't even know about. $$

Vantage Point (Cast: Dennis Quaid, Sigourney Weaver, Forest Whitaker, Matthew Fox, William Hurt) ... A good thriller story, but the beginning is definitely not shown well. $

Penelope (Cast: Christina Ricci, Reese Witherspoon - who produced it as well, James McAvoy) ... Actually, a very delightful movie and a very good moral lesson. $$

Definitely, Maybe (Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Abigail Breslin, Isla Fisher, Elizabeth Banks, Rachel Weisz) ... Another cute movie, with slightly different twist of a story. $

Fool's Gold (Cast: Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson, Donald Sutherland) ... Cute movie; just needed to get out the house that day. $

The Bucket List (Cast: Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson, Sean Hayes) ... Wonderful, great actors and a touching story we all need to heed too. $$

There Will Be Blood (Cast: Daniel Day Lewis, Paul Dano)... One of the best movies of 2007 (saw it in 2008) and probably one of the 10 best of all time.The acting is phenomenal and not just by Daniel Day Lewis. $$

No Country For Old Men (Cast: Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin) ... It was a great movie, but I didn't like it. Too weird and gruesome. $$

27 Dresses (Cast: Katherine Heigl, James Marden, Edward Burns) ... Actually, a bit better than I thought, but still cute and adorable. Katherine Heigl is this year's Julia Roberts. $$

The Waterhorse (Cast: Emily Watson, Ben Chaplin) .. Adorable, sort of "ET'ish" movie; very enjoyable. $

Mad Money (Cast: Diane Keeton, Katie Holmes, Queen Latifah, Ted Danson) ... Not that great and even somewhat good; save for DVD. $

Charlie Bartlett (Cast: Robert Downey, Jr., Hope Davis and a huge cast of unknowns) ... Actually very good and well written; reminded me a bit of "Juno", but still worth seeing. $$

Alvin and the Chipmunks (Cast: Jason Lee) ...cute and funny. $
